Black Country Partnership NHS FT and Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust

SCL played a key role in supporting the integration of the two Trusts, which was successfully achieved on 1 April 2020. SCL supported the Trusts to develop the Business Case and the Integration Plan for the merger of the two organisations, and provided strategic, financial and technical advice to the Boards of both Trusts throughout the process. The transaction was relatively unusual in that it was implemented through a commercial business transfer, rather than a statutory transfer, which allowed for the Dudley and Walsall Mental Health NHS Trust legacy entity to remain in existence, and become the Dudley Integrated Healthcare Trust, an integrated care provider which will deliver the Black Country system’s vision for a Multi-specialty Community Provider.
