Somerset NHS FT’s merger with Yeovil District Hospital NHS FT

In partnership with Deloitte, SCL provided ‘critical friend’ advice in respect of the development of the Business Case and Integration Plan for the proposed merger of Somerset NHS FT with Yeovil District Hospitals NHS FT, which is one of the first NHS transactions to be delivered under the new Transactions Guidance. The merger will result in a single provider for NHS acute, community and mental health services for the Somerset ICS.
Our role has included providing strategic advice to the Board of both organisations, supporting the Trusts’ teams to undertake due diligence, and reviewing the Business Case and Integration Plan, including the financial forecasts for the merged organisation.
